Leonardo DiCaprio :: Fisker Karma
Leonardo DiCaprio :: Fisker Karma
Leonardo is well known for his environmentally conscious attitude. Once happy owner of Toyota Prius, Leo remained faithful to hybrid concept, but this time with a bit sporty look. The 2012 Fisker Karma is a plug-in hybrid luxury sports sedan, that was developed in Anaheim CA, by same designer as BMW Z. Resemblance is obvious.
The Karma is a pure series hybrid, driven by a pair of 120 kW (161 hp) electric motors that receive power from a 20.1 kWh lithium ion battery, and/or an engine powered generator. Once the battery is depleted, or when in the “Sport” mode, the front-mounted 260-hp, 2.0-liter Ecotec four-cylinder direct-injection turbocharged gasoline engine powers a generator that sends electricity directly to the drive motors. The total range with a full tank of gasoline and a fully charged battery is 230 miles.
Leonardo also owns an electric Tesla Roadster, which is not bad idea, since Tesla Motors filed a lawsuit against Fisker Automotive for stealing Tesla’s Model S hybrid technology (and lost it).
Some politicians are also proud owners of this unusual car, but I won’t mention their names since they failed miserably to enter my blog’s “celebrity” category.
